Yep. It's called the mini handshake.

If one driver sees another mini, they will wave.
If this wave is not seen, a beep is compulsory, then the wave.

Sometimes, each of the mini drivers get excited when they see another mini. This is when multiple beeps are performed, to gain the attention of other automobile drivers.
This is very fun. 8)

Will.

I live in that area and drive my yellow mini around that roundabout quite frequently. But it's not a clubby

why cant someone live out near golden grove?
i've seen some wicked mini's in my time, there was a yellow clubby van with a kit on it in my area. haven't seen it since i got my 1100. Everyone at work asks me if mine's a cooper s coz of the stripes... THEY'RE NOT EVEN IN THE RIGHT POS! lol.

cooper s is the only thing people know about mini's, ooh and their uncle's, cousins, mothers, brothers, twice removed step-neice's boss used to own one. they obviously had a ride in it. ooh and how can i forget, it went like the clappa's :)

i swear there was a community cooper s that everyone got to go in. coz anyone 40+ knows someone who had one. even the van's were cooper s's!

the strips on the bonnet were there so pit crews could distinguish one cooper from the next .... the strip is up to the indervidual

You younger Adelaide boys missed the days of REAL cruising....

Back when i had my first mini in 1998, i went thru the whole "street racer" thing, and decked my STOCKIE 850 out with roll cage, harnesses, gauges, stickers n crap.....

Image
  did i mention stickers???

Mine eventually had a number 6 on the doors...... I had a friend with a grey mini who had the same things done... and he had a number 7

We used to go fanging around the suburbs together, in and out of back streets - people didnt know what the hell was going on!!!! When we pulled up in servos, people would walk over and look thru em.... and we'd tell em LIE after LIE..... was the funniest crap ever!!!

Back then, there was also the purple injected convertable (RIBENA). It didnt like summer at all, it overheated a few times....

Image

imagine seeing my old 850 (top picture) TOWING the purple convertable thru the city one hot saturday night....followed by 2 other minis!!! 8)

There were organised cruises almost every fortnight, tons of hang out spots, the start of the RICER era...... imagine the TTP carpark FULL of young hoons, people doing burnouts, a mass of panic when the cops EVENTUALLY arrived..... Now THOSE were the days!!!

but NOW, all the parking spots have gone, there are HEAPS more defect stations, people just dont do the things we did... and the cars have disappeared... If only i could take ya's back

(...waiting for the REAL oldies to have a dig at me....)

Oh yeah, about the yellow clubby.....

Did it have 10 inch minilites in the same yellow??

If yes, the guy shops at Brickworx, fugged if i can remember his name....

If no, are the spotties on a chrome nudge bar??? Is there a small white sticker on the top of the front window??? Ive seen this one getting around lately, and knew the previous owner....

OH and finally, if anyone sees this white mini with red roof (VCK-587)......

Image

....Say HI for me, it was my first mini (had lots of stickers once, see 2 pics up).
Took this pic at a workshop last year, the car has been resto'd, and is now aparrently a genuine Morris Cooper (tell him its really a morris 850 ) But it looks really good....

lol....has it become one of steve's 'genuine morris coopers'? ....not that it REALLY matters.....a while back, before brickworx moved, there were two BRG morris coopers side-by side and i actually couldnt tell the difference....i spent AGES looking and just couldnt find anything different on the replica. They must have spent ages adding all the bits and pieces

That'd be awesome, kind of like user profiles but with pics of their cars and location?

itd make it much easier if people wanted to organise ausmini meets etc.

nah all over the joint mate, i usually try to do the stages that Hedley Bachmann is running (they always run the smoothest)....last year i did chain of ponds, norton summit (that was hedleys stage...won stage of the year ) and one other...cant remember which, but usually the stages like the eagle and the more open ones are better for pics where you can see the cars coming otherwise with a digi cam you miss them cos of the delay before the pic is actually taken  i only got the back end of every car last year cos of this :?
