Hey everyone,

The 2005 Newcastle hill climb is being held at King Edward Park on Saturday the 22nd - 23rd October 2005 and is organised by the MG Car Club. There is always a handful of minis that enter this event and I am going to have a look. Anyone here competing or going to have a look?

Brad I reckon u should enter !!!

Yep saw them putting up all the fencing last weekend when we went up there to see my Nan :).. As we went for a drive around King Edward park.. Also saw some fools getting married in the rotunder there.

But was not sure if they were taking the fencing down or putting up. But thanks to your post I know they were putting it up now..

Might even go up there for that weekend yet as it is my birtday.. Might even take Granny for a run as my Nan has not seen her yet in person :)..

Hi Guys!
I've put in my entry for the Sunday event, Saturday is a national round (the fast boys) Sunday is more of a club style event (Tri Challenge).
There are a few Mini's entered, but we won't get confirmation until right before the event!
If I'm in, please come and say hello!! :P 8)

Hi Grant! yeah, that car belongs to Rod Taggart, haven't seen him this year, he runs on a real budget, and I think he damaged the head or something, great looking car though, and way out of my league! It's 1380 with a Quaife Dog box and Quaife LSD
He got 98 at the wheels on John Collins (conservative) Dyno.

It's real quick! I'll be out there for fun mostly, it's my last hillclimb of the season.

Cheers Graham 8)

Hi Kev, just got back from a meeting of the 'hillclimb sub committee!" :?

'Managed to scam a few 'display vehicle passes!!!' :D

There is one mini (that I know of) on Sat 22nd (Kevin Lucas in a rapid 1275GT), then 4 Mini's in class 4 Sports sedan on Sunday 23rd.

Will start a thread next week to see who's coming!! :D

Graham

Lillian and I are Marshalling today (crowd control!) If anyone wants a ticket or a 'display car' entry, or pit pass! For either today or Sunday, call us on 0410 466171 and we will try to help!

Cheers! I am still entered to run on Sunday! :D
