the driver side door catch from my 850 will only pull the catch in half way when the handle is pulled. When pulling the handle, there is a lot of slack before the catch actually starts moving in.

This means my door wont open!

Is there a way to fix this sort of problem, or am i up for a new one?
If so, does anyone have one for me :D?

It`s worn out & probly need a new mech

how-ever,,,,if you really want a "CHEAP" "QUICK" "BODGEY" fix---then smack the door pillar backwarsd right at the catch plate, so that it moves that section of the pillar back slightly, enough to allow your door to open anyways

ok, ok, i know it`s not really to "Done" thing,,,or even the ":right" thing to do,,,But,,,it`s only if you wanted a "quick" fix & only if you`re not too fussed about your paint job

I`ve done it many times before for people who are dead broke & don`t care too much about it being pretty,,,they just wanted their door to open

so,,,if you understood all that then hammer away :-)

if you didn`t understand,,,or you care about your mini`s pillar & paint job,,,then don`t do it

easy-peasy

:-)

more likely your door hinge pins need replacing. try lifting the door and see if that makes it easier

I've just resprayed my car, and am reassembling it!!

I take it i WILL need another one, the catch is out of the car, and it can easily be seen that the latch is not turtling in far enough.

:) thanks
