Well the cost to have a place rebuild and work on something t that extent would exceed five grand. Any help?

i know there are so many variables with looking at an engine
but 4K is a LOT to part with for an engine.

rebuild for an engine is about $1500
webber/dell ive seen sell for $400

quite a big gamble, i would get my own block rebuilt with a trusted mechanic. i dont know anything about the islington place sorry

i got my 1100 rebuilt there and it seems good? only done bout 2000 k's on it since its been done, but yeh, better than it drove before.

when i got it done they had a 1310 sitting around with i think 6000k's done on it, i think that was going for $2000, y dont u get that if they still have it?

do they still have the red mini with black roof and 13x7 superlites on it there? thats sweet

I am always curious about "rebuilt" engines... If it was me I would get a $200 unbuilt engine and build it yourself. THen you know what you are getting and know that its not going to need another rebuild a few weeks after you buy it.

Having said that Brickworx are building an engine for me and I trust the work that they do so its worth the money I am paying for it for sure...

maybe it'd be good to have a thread/forum on the board where people can make up a list of good prices for things. that way, people could look there, and there wouldn't be a "What's this worth?" followed by the inevitable string comment. just a suggestion anyway.

We have got some stuff from there and the guy seems pretty helpful but we did not spend $ 4000.00 ether.
I agree with Iwannamini if you can, build it yourself.

It sounds a bit dear, I just finished a total rebuild on a 1275-1310 and all the machining which included a crank grind, boring block, supplying new pistons and rings, bearings for the crank, new cam bearings and new cam, lead free head conversion and balancing the bottom end and supplying gaskets cost $1200. If the motor comes complete with new gearbox and clutch and all assembled it may be worth $4000 but if not it is a bit xxy. I guess it worth what ever someone is prepared to pay really
