I honestly cannot believe you just spelt "brake" the way you have!

There needs to be some kind of Sticky thread that explains the situations where the following words are used... brake, break... there, they're, their... where, we're, wear, were... bought, brought.

All this incorrect spelling and grammar on forums really pisses me off.

FYI... To be correct the thread title shoud read, "Brake booster" not "Breake booster".

Most people prefer having one, as it gives a modern feel to the pedal.

Personally I prefer to have more direct feel for the brakes
, and I'm heavy enough to push any pedal to the floor

Back to the original question, I find it much better to have a booster with discs, it's really personal preference, some like the heavy pedal without booster but I reckon they just about got it right with a booster, not to heavy and good feel with.

They add some strength to the brakes, but it's only personel preference. If you've got the cash, and don't mind a little more hassle getting to the clutch assembly, go for it.

Got "S" discs here, Green Stuff pads....

Havnt felt the need to add a booster yet... car stops easily and quickly....

My opinion: Well i've got discs without a booster... at first i thought the discs needed boosting but i've now become used to the heavy pedal feel and am of the opinion that a booster is not a necessity but more of a luxury. I may end up installing a booster some day but it will be when i have some excess cash.


I kept quiet all those times when "break" was used instead of "brake"... but "breake" isn't even an english word!

If the car has no inside heater, you can stick the booster under the dash, like the works cars did...
I've got 2 Minis with S brakes and no booster- on my wife's I fitted EBC Blackstuffs. They need less pedal effort than the Green ones but do fade a bit sooner. Good road pad, lots cheaper too.

Anonymous moderation means the agro that is built up towards the mods isn't aimed at an individual (fewer "Makk" attacks). Less stress for mods means less moderator "retirements".

The worst part is when you hop into a modern car and put everyone through the windscreen because you are used to braking in a mini.

I don't belive that you can go past a decent brake set up in any car, the Moke has a stainless steel lined VH44, from a stainless steel line master through from discs and line rear wheel cylinders (although a decent working hand brake is just as important and very enjoyable)
