Here is our small trailer, it weighs in at 140 kilos and has cable over ride brakes, the trailer load area is about 11 foot long and 5 ft 6 wide, we use it for the moke, robin hood clubman and the Lotus Europa and it is a great lttle unit

Here's some lousy pics of mine, they're lousy because it is now dark.

I took off the number plate last weekend to clean up the surface rust on the white bits on the back.

Winch was added a couple of weeks ago.

Yes my yard is trailer central at the moment. 1 x caravan, 1 x car trailer, 1x 6x4 box and 1 x 8x4 tandem box (for sale).

Cheers,

I have had the same trailer since 1982. I paid $295 for it from some Dude that built it to cart a Morris 1100 on it. It has been everyehere traveling from Speedway track to the next. It never blew a tyre on the road. I even went all the way from Bris to Coffs to pick up the green Cooper S a couple of weeks ago there and back was around 800Km for me. No worries They do not get hot and blow. The advantage of having 10 inch wheels is that you can keep the centre of gravity low down and you get better handling. Mine has weight sharing spring setup as it is a tandem axle and has hydraulic Original Mini Brakes on just one Axle. Works well.

I have noticed a lot of these trailers have ommitted the suspension. I know that the car has its own suspension, but how do you go with the trailer unloaded ....does it buck around on the back of the car a bit ??

Any chance that you could tell me the cylinder size in the mini brakes and what sort of coupling you have got :?:

I have 2 minis as share parts in the back yard that I can salvage some parts of them and make it all a bit cheaper

Works okay I guess, but I don't like the feel of it. Very annoying snatch and pitch on rough roads, and Oz has plenty of those!

My trailer has a dropped axle (ends where the drums fit on is higher off the ground than the middle). This gives similar ride height to no springs on a normal axle welded straight on.

Perhaps this trailer might be big enough?
You could modify it perhaps

edit: don't worry I didn't read the specs

I love that hydrollic tilt duel axle...how much would that cost

I think the buggy trailer would be perfect...with brakes of course. I am not sure that a deck height of 457mm is a bit too high. I am really going to have to do my homework to get the deck height as low as possible and not let the guards protude more than 200 mm above the deck as not to fowl the doors when opened.

Mybe 13" wheels and slipper spings and put the axle on top of the spring.......

Time to do some drawing

Minimad

Ps anybody else out there with duel axle mini wheel trailers????

I bought the set of plans for that buggy trailer but haven't built it yet. I was wanting it for a dual axle small trailer suitable for Mini's and old renaults (R8, R10 vintage).

It's probably a bit lightweight (and only single non-braked axle) but could form the basis of something suitable.
