thanks guys! :)

theres alot of younger girls and guys on here with excellent examples of untouched and modified vehicles.

Im sorry to say this but the comment about young people stuffing up minis is totally invalid. you have to remember that theres more younger people than older people on this forum, so your gonna be outvoted!

alritey lets get this straight......there are som teenagers who screw mini's up like the guy i bought my clubbie off, and i gotta fix it up and im a teenager. There are some teenagers who
do good work out there and theres some that dont.
Also u guys said that some teenagers cant do good work because of budget problems thats why im saving up and spendin money

The only Mini i have stuffed/helped to stuff was mostly done before i got it...

All $600 of it. The rust was BAD. You could see the road, from inside the car, at about 5 different locations, and just as many in the boot

The roof was already totalled... So we helped  (Drunken bucks-night incident)
The engine/gearbox was, infact, already rooted... I had little to do with its' eventual death.

But hey, the car got me around for 8 months, barely missed a beat whilst i had it, and now Spaceboy has it. Many parts have gone to a better cause, KittyKats' newly acquired 1310 S....

So yes, i have had my hand covered with tar on one occasion, but the rest of my Minis have been kept SWEET. (This car was to save my LS from been driven everyday to work, next to a foundry)

i got my car when i was 17, im sure i probally wanted some super quick 1275 to begin with, but over the years the only thing ive changed is the drums to twin leading shoe, and i had the intetion of restoring it to original. No cliche white roof for me sorry!

But now i find that all the interior trim that i carefully removed from the car has become wrecked over the years, if it goes back in, the car will look like a total mess.

Im sorry but i cant afford to go out and source new interior trim, just for the sake of keeping it original.

I guess this thread isnt about me, but rather people who carelessly mess things up. but remember, it was the old people who modded these cars and crashed them back in the day making them so rare to begin with!

Cars are cars, and eventually they will all die and the world will be a better place!

:D

ramble ramble.

When I was young I did some bad things to a mini ( i suspect it is no longer in circulation).
I was 15 and had no money. None. 20 bucks a week was all I had. I took a mini that would have been wrecked for parts by anyone else and did evil things on a low budget cause I wanted a car when I turned 17.
I bogged up the beaver panel and repaired it with a dog food can cut up. I kid you not. I bogged up the holes in the floor, well enough to pass road worthy and nothing else.
Also at the back there was a ding on the clubbie on the back right corner. You know them two lines that clubbies have around the corners Well one corner had only 1 line made in bog by my right index finger(yes I've considered removing it  )
I did evil things but if it wasn't for me that car would never have gotten back on the road.
Eh. It was a good car for the 4 years I had it and I knew the next 2 owners and they were happy with it.

Goddam there are some nice cars in this thread. Young or old. Nice damn cars.
I hope my current project is never looked at and have people think I am still a young dick. (although I suspect they will)

Jesus, has the art of reading & understanding information gone??????? I clearly stated the following points,

Some young people stuff mini's, but i don't agree with it in full.

Im not taring every young person with the same brush.

This is just my personnal experience, when i bought the clubman the 2 previous owners where 16-17, he proudly told me that he cut the holes in the parcel shelf for the full "sik" speakers.

Christ get a bit more of a think skin people.

Totally agree with Doogie :)...

And yes I was young once too and yes my first car I ever owned was a genuine 67 MK1 Cooper S. I also had a stereo in it believe it or not.. But the thing is I never cut any metal in the back parcel shelf for speakers.

I admit I did think about it.. But then I thought but its a Cooper S.. So instead I just sat the speakers in small wooden boxes.. Ok might not have sounded the best but the thing was I never cut any metal in my car. Basically because once the metal has been cut out then thats it. I cant ever put it back to the way it use to be.

Im not so much against people putting stereos into cars.. Goodness knows when I use to have my own business I spent over $25,000.00 on a full Soundstream system in my Series 4 Turbo RX 7. Somewhere I have photos of it :). But not once did I even cut metal or drill one extra hole to mount anything. As I made extra sure that no holes were drilled by anyone or any metal was cut. But instead all the custom wood work and panels for the doors, kick panels and in the boot area were all made to suit existing holes put there by the manufacturer. Even the 1/0 guage wire from the battery in the front of the car ran underneath the car inside some flexible condute up into a drain hole put there by the manufacture then connected to a second battery. So when I eventually sold this car I could easily put it back to the way it was originally.

It just took a bit more thought and planning and much frustration to my friends who were installing it to make it this way. But it wasnt impossible.

:)

More likely MOST Younger people will change a car away from originality. ( I.E stereo, race seats, engine mods, Mag wheels, gauges, roll cages, paint jobs and Bling).SOME people would consider changing a car from original,STUFFING IT, due to it's historical value.(Myself included to a certain extent ) An older person has more experience than younger people due to the fact he's been there and done it before.
