Yeah I used to build model cars and RC cars so I think I can do a pretty good job. I was thinking about using the soapy water method but now I will definately use that method! Thanks for the tips!

Now I can't wait to put em on! I been pondering over it for awhile now...

Do the bonnet stripes they sell in the UK fit Mark 1 (or australian round nose) style bonnets? I was worried that they may have been designed for the MK ownwards and would be to short... :?

Unlike the model transfers which have water based glue - goes soft when wet, hard when dry, the soap/water neutralises the glue but doesn't affect its adhesive properties. The main reason is that you remove all air bubbles from the vinyl. They're a b*^tard as the air expands when it's hot, has nowhere to go so stretches the vinyl. It takes a very long time using dry method to not get any bubbles. Make sure you then treat the vinyls with respect for a while and give them another squeegee about 1-5 - 2 hours later. Any moisture remaining will eventually come out via osmosis! Not a problem when applying lettering, but more solid stickers. The ability to slide into position is also very handy.

I used to work in the UK with the vinyls and over there, they are a bloody good money earner! Definitely check out local signmakers as well to get a comparison on prices.

I have supplied a signmaker with the GT 'up and over' stripes I made from a pattern taken off an original factory set. I think they are pretty close to the original! If anyone is interested, PM me and I'll put you in touch with him. You can see a pic of my car on my web site

The stripes are called "White Bonnet Stripe decals for Mk1 and Mk2" so I hope they fit!!!
