not so stupid, seen stupider!

im guessing the model you mean is called the clubman. If so then the clubman was simply an updated version of the classic mini shape made to look more modern. Bear in mind when it was launched in the UK in 1970 the original shape had been around for 11 years. Clubmans were launched in late 1971 here in Australia. Mechanically they are a little bit different but you're splitting hairs to really look at mech. differences. In terms of parts, the Clubman is pretty much just as well serviced as the round nose, and in many cases parts cross over anyway.

Calling them Leyland is kind of incorrect, as British Leyland were the parent company for some time before actually putting the leyland name to a car. For instance my 69 Mini K (roundnose style) is still called a Morris, but all through the handbooks etc the parent company is referred to as British Leyland.

mmm.. orange Hemi charger just went past... reminds me of GrN battles with cooper s'..

Actually (before someone beats me to it) the correct name for most of them, apart from the Clubman GT- is `Leyland Mini', as it sez on the back.. not `Clubman'.

Yeah I know, we all just call it a Clubbie....

Clubbie shape came out here in late `71, not before. Poms got it before we did. But later, they had the good sense to bin it.. :P

 Don't see us clubby owners bag morrie owners.
Afterall, the clubby IS more versatile for heart transplants... not many morrises with non A series engines.
