...and the flash time between coats is 5-7 minutes, can I leave my gun for that time or will it clog up the jets? Or can I give it a little squirt every minute or so to keep it clear, or does it just not matter?

Tak time should be shorter then that. Sounds like your skimping on the thinners. Anyway.... if your doing a whole car with a 50% overlap you'll get back to the start panel in 5+ minutes so the gun wont clog.

The needle will seal off the paint. Get a cloth dip it in thinners a scrub the needle tip and exit face if you get build up. The first squirt after a delay needs to be to clear away any gunk then your ok.

Thanks for that - all I needed to know. I'm just practicing on a boot lid at the mo, so it only take a minute to spray it.
