hey guys, was just wondering who you all insure with and what cost.
I have my clubby insured for $7000 full comp with Shannons. It cost me a s#@t load each month but if i didnt have it and someone stole it or it got totaled i dont wanna be getting market value for it and leave me out of pocket big time.

so was just wondering if there are any other insurace companies that will insure us???

I had it hard getting insurance, Shannons turned me away because I just got my P's (you need at least 3 years driving exp & I'm 19) & other companys were $1500+ & wouldn't give agreed value

Anyway I got referred to Vigil http://www.vigilins.com.au/ They are great, my insurance cost me only under $700 FULL COMPREHENSIVE Rating 4 (never held a rating ever), with road side assistanc, windscreen, keep your wreck if you total your car, & agreed value for my mini at $9000. They covered my accessories (bucket seats, ice etc...) for $1000.

They specialise in Hot ROD, classic, modified etc... I have had 0 problems & A+ service from them so far lol.

I love Shannons...

I have my deluxe, my traveller, my moke, my project car, my home contents AND my investment property all insured through shannons for ALL UP just under $1000... The multi policy discounts REALLY do work...

We are talking a good company here. Just see what they are like if I ever have to make a claim....

$104 to insure the cooper s for $20,000 it's on club plates

$300 to insure the daily driver clubman for $8000. Both with Snannons.

31, y/o with full no claim discount.

someone quoted about vigil???
ohhhh no..dont get me started....there a bunch of turds over there.when my deluxe got hit they tried pulling a dodgie on me as the rep i was dealing with had a freind who was into minisand he was trying to get my car for his mate and only giving me a messley $1800 for it
when i turned down his offer hes made it hard for me to get any money so all i got in the end was 1200 and my car back....must be carefull with vigil as if its not stated you have buy back rights then your stuffed if you take any offer from them...as once you agree to take the cash they keep your car so be carefull...thye exspected me to give them a mini with over $8000 worth of stereo in it for only 1800....yeah right...i left them after that as they also had people in my car at the impound lot where it was being kept while the claim was going threw...and was told buy a little birdie threr were people siting in it and they had the stereo up quite lound to see what it could do...end result...they blew an amp and my battery was stuffed too...witch was a $500 optima item...i was not happy at all...go shanons....as you can specify you want buy back rights ...

well i would maybe ring shannons and ask them to have a nother look at your
premium and see if they can do any better???

if not, they are still worth the money i believe as they really look after you
in a claim and understand the passion that motoring enthusiasts like us
have for our cars! I would never change insurers even for a cheaper premium...

I was with Vigil for quite a while. Over the years they devalued my MiniMatic (modified, with 1310S power etc) from $5000 down to $3000. I'm now with Shannons ($6000 cover) and we have all our other cars with them too. House & contents soon.
Very happy. :D Hmmmm....wonder if they do boats...

Like I said, I would have gone Shannons but was turned away for 0 expierience for full & comp. Was only offered 3rd party. I did try companies like NRMA and CGU but they qould only insure my $9000 mini for market value of $2500 (are mini's seriously worth that much??) & there premiums were up to 2 grand p/a.
Once I get the 3 years I'll change to them. But so far I have had no problems with Vigil. But then again I haven't had any crashes or anything yet.
