I conveniently have "The Dog & Lemon Guide" sitting right on my desk now, 976 pages of pure rubbish :P about a bloke saying how bullshit your car is 8)
I have the 2004 guide. maybe they do one every so often?

The Moke
predicted reliability, if not completely rebuilt, VERY POOR, serious accident risk,
overall rating , AVIOD like the plague!

The 'Mini' gets better reviews although not very good, as the 1100 is too

umm? :?:

Perhaps the author drove an automatic Hillman Minx in the 60's and was dragged off at the lights by a little old lady in a Mini Deluxe. So he hates all things BMC/BL.

i really like mokes, and all mini derivitives.. clubbies and rovers are cool too.
they may have been a lemon, but lemon's dont get produced for that long or that many sold or end up as classics

the army mokes were so crap initially that some early mokes came stackable (just remove the windscreen and you have boxes) and two engines. one in front and rear, same gear stick, ultimate 4wd 8)

2 engines is so dumb!
those retards at bmc should have been inventing proper 4wd for mokes or something that doesnt involve pushrods and siamese ports :?

i bought some late 70s rally mags theother week
There is a page advert for moke in it, i suppose i should scan it or somthing.

"Looks like a toolbox
Drives like a moneybox"

Somthing like that!, refering to the mpg

There were also ads for clubmen, but there was hot chicks on the other side, so i let my mate cut em up.

:)

perhaps that author was in a book of crap authors!!! i guess everyone has there own idea on what constitutes a crap car.. however like them or not putting the moke on that list is pretty fluxed up,, for starters its still around and desirable,, cant say that for the hillman hunter, or the loverly early mitubishi's and Skoda's... kinda seems that time has made this guy (on the assumption it was written by a male) look pretty stupid.. did the edsel get a mention.. that was supposed to be fords great mistake, im guessing a good edsel would be worth a packet these days...

Mine'll probably be on sale at the end of the year to help pay for my roundie. Dunno about price yet, it needs some front panel work and has battery box rust. Everything else is rust free save a small bubble on the drivers side near the side window.
