I agree, better to buy a clapped 1100S and get it recond. If the 1380 needs a rebore you can't get 74rmm pistons at present.

I got my 1275 block bored to 73mm, crank ground, all new bearings, pistons, rings, all checked and assembled for less tahn a grand plus GST. And the 1100

People 1275 engines are getting thin on the ground, even in the UK good blocks are getting thin, forget the 1380 as a first step and only go to whatever is needed 1293, 1310,1330 at least then you have somewhere to go for the next rebuild. 1380's dont go much better than a well sorted small bore and if its torque your looking for stroke the sucker, there is more than one way to skin a cat and have some left over for later
