While they have not been named publically, I'm sure a community like ausmini must be a nightmare for specialist traders. JAM has probably been busy sending PMs to all those who asked the business name, as he is entitled.

One slip up and dozens of potential customers go elsewhere.

Perhaps it's worth mentioning next time you are on the phone to one of them. "I'm on ausmini". Hint at the fact that discontent or equally praise will end up in a public forum based on their performance.

I'm sure the majority of mini parts suppliers are well aware of ausmini

yes I have had a huge amount of PM's about this. I HAVE NOT named the business, because I felt they would do the right thing by a customer.

As it turns out, I have had another phone conversation with the supplier today, and they have agreed to replace the damaged panels.

When I receive them (undamaged this time please!) I will publicly thank them. Businesses who support the customer 'post sale' are the ones we should support.

the words to hit them with are

INCOMPETENT
ARROGANT
UNPROFFESSIONAL

anyone who works should take pride in what they do and do it properly. even if you are bored and paid crap. i know i've had some boring crap jobs, but doing them properly has always led to better things, and for a business its the same. if you do it properly, it will lead to bigger and better things.

really sorry to hear you are so upset Anton, don't let the bastards get you down, you will win in the end

Good news!

Glad you got it sorted :D

You had me worrying a bit, as I have parts coming from Adelaide, Melbourne (the same supplier?) and California. Have only ever bought parts locally before, and was getting concerned. Especially when I sent cash in the envelope to the USA ...

I prefer Aust Post - they are flexibile and friendly. Admittedly living in the country makes this possible and our post master has actually taken a parcel to the "the office" for me on a friday afternoon coz heknew i would be there having a "directors meeting". In this case the office is the local pub.

I actually sent 5.3 kg of wool today to a sydney address. Stuffed into a garbage bag with sticky tape holding it together and an address label sticky-ed on. The post office didn't bat an eyelid.

Courier companies will not deliver here. They have two drop off points in town and you have to check with each one if you are expecting couriered goods.

I used to work for a local courier company and the sight of panels in bubblewrap is not that unusual. Most of the local panel shops would unwrap the panels before signing the con-note and quite a few panels are returned to sender. They do send bent panels to small customers that they think won't complain.

I have been having a lot of problems with Australia Post. Their parcel deliveries are done by private contractors that are more usless than the couriers. One parcel was delivered to one of my neighbours and they opened it to see if it was worth pinching. When I complained at the post office they replied "We have been getting a lot of complaints about the contractors"

Yep this is correct, Australia post and all their affiliated courier services are getting rid of company drivers and using contractors. Works better for the budget I guess, but no good for us.

i know my local aussie mail contractor by name. delivers stuff all the time and pop's in to see the cars. He's into classic cars and like the look of mini's. helps to have freinds in the right places. He even held off delivering a parcel until i got home one night as he didn't want to leave it on the doorstep! Top Bloke!

Cheers

Aaron
