there was another thread on here today about the tare weight of the various mini models...now...does anyone know what the weight diff is between the various door types? sliding? winding? i know the winding ones are BLOODY heavy...

I know the door pockets on the winding window types hold a lot of weight. If you take those off it makes a big difference.

Don't know what it does to the structure though.

I have taken them off to repair the rust in the doors and pockets.

And on the subject, do aluminium door skins make much difference? I'm sure I read them being available somewhere.

850 doors are the lightest, no winding mech or inner steel panel, but a bigger pocket.
deluxe/K/cooper(s) doors are next.
i imagine later clubby ones are a bit heavier again if they had to meet side intrusion regs?
