Ok this is not exactly a mini topic, but i need maximum exposure to get help here, and hell these may be out there in a mini engine. My brother is building a new 4AGE engine for his corolla sports sedan (NSW U2L Sports Sedan Champ 2005!). he has spent some serious money on components and the assembly is going to be as perfect as we can get it. this is where the problem lies - the new arias pistons came with gudgeon pins and clips like in the photos below. they are not circlips or teflon buttons like we have seen before, but are more like a keyring, as you can see in the picture where i am pulling it apart. Several questions

Has anyone seen these before?
HOW does one fit these? Is there a special tool?
Are there any known advantages or disadvantages compared to circlips?

thanks
michael

ps he beat Charlie Borg in his VTEC mini for the title this year and i was equal 8 with Charlie in the MCCNSW speed event championship this year :P does that make it mini chat worthy???

I would say (having broken circlips in revvy A series) that these look way stronger.
