Okay i'm just home from Brickworx for a couple of hours while he attends personal matters, so i decided to use the Brickworx Courier Truck to bring my motors home.
And then i decided to put one in the deluxe, so I didn't have to do it when i got home from work (Coles).

All that needs doing now is bolting the mounts up (to get it sitting correctly), then mounting the weber, then get the weber box made up, then take the motor out, then send it off to the paint shop. Finally.
THEN then then

Pics should be up (if i can be bothered) after i get home from work.

willy.

aww me too :P

Well... i'm just in from the shed.
Motor is bolted up.
Weber is on.
WEBER BOX TEMPLATE HAS BEEN MADE!!!
After many different 'tries' with some 0.6mm stainless i had lying around, i finally got the size i wanted :D.
It goes into the firewall about 40mm, which is at the reference line "10mm from the bottom of the nuts which hold the bottom of the speedo housing in"
:D -- (for those of you playing at home)

How much clearance do you have around the filter etc? It doesn't look like much but that could just be the camera angle. You should make sure you leave enough room for the engine to move around, and they do move around a suprising amount.

There is about 15mm + from the back of the air filter to the vertical bit on the weber box.
And about 40mm from the bottom of the filter and the horizontal part of the box.

I've got it under control..
And yep about the engine movement - I got a flexi put in my exhaust system for this exact reason

Weber "BOX" is made!
Woohoo thanks heaps Beanie :D
Steve paid me out calling it an 'ashtray' cos its unlike his massive air box that he has in his race car, so anything less is inferior

But it'll serve its purpose well - to seal the firewall up from where the Weber air cleaner needs clearance.

That's about it.
Now i have the fun task of cutting the whole out NICELY (there was a small *hack* cut into it, so i'm fixing it up)
I've started to cut it out a couple of mm from the line using an angle grinder, later i'll clean it up with a die grinder.
Make it nice :)

Now.... should i get it welded in? Or just screw it in so it can be removed at a later date, need that happen.
