i was in the maccas carpark, sittin in my car sending a message and drinking a coke (as you do...) and i finish up and turn the car on, then theres a tap tap tap on the side window! and theres this guy, telling me about how hes got one of these (he didnt tell me it was a cooper s!!!
) turns out hes got himself a 78 leyland, very original (one old lady owner, been sitting for a couple o years) so all the interior is very very nice and new apparently, and has 73000? orig. kms on ze dial, all original books and dealer sticker on the back window. unfortunately is had been liviong near the beach in a carport, so the rust wasnt such a pretty sight. all along the roof seam....and so on. eep...
he has cutt all the rust out, stripped to bare metal and primed (only spray cans temporarily while waiting for a paintjob, going to re-strip back then. going to restore to original. sounds like a plan!!!
so that was nice
but i forgot to buy my dinner (didnt want maccas)
