u mean to say u put a quick shifter on with the origional gear shifter?? i think thats ur problem, u need a special stick for them, other then that it might be that uve missed the hole in the bottom of the selector housing

Obviously the quick shifter was taken out, and the old one was replaced since the quick shifter did not fit. Once the original was replaced the gearbox would not engage into reverse after lifting and pulling back the stick. Instead it slid back into 4th gear, can anyone actually help with this problem? And yes the shifter was placed into the hole in the bottom of the selector housing otherwise I would not have been able to replace the gearlever box cover, or have been able to shift into gears 1 through 4.

It's a clubman gearbox I think, engine is a clubman 1ltr so I guess the gearbox is clubman but the morris mini is a 65 roundie.

It's a pull to reverse gear, pretty sure it's a rod one.

The original shifter was replaced after the quickshifter was taken out and everything was put back the way it was, except it no longer shifts into reverse. When the shifter is pulled up it either doesn't shift to reverse or slides back into 4th, I have no idea whats going on?
