My very first car was a marna. $500 and blew the motor in three days (Nothing has changed).

So tell me - if you droped a V8 into one (lets say the fast back model - or whatever it was called). DO you think you would ever be able to cure the nadling woes? Would make one hell of a great Over 2Ltr improved production car.

The front suspension has torsion bar springs and lever arm shocks. From what I understand the suspension angles are not the best but you can make improvements by adding telescopic shocks and fiddling the wheel allignment.
The late Marina (The Morris Ital that we never got in Aus) is supposed to have these changes.

Morris Mminors and then the Morris Majors and onto Morris Major Elites had ths telescopic arm shockies and the torsion bar suspension.

The Morris Majors had a relatively light body and the "B" series BMC motor. With a few hot bits they could be fairly easily made into potent little race cars. But of course that was nearly fifty years ago.

I was actually at an Oran Park meeting in 1961 (I was 13) and saw lots of Morris Majors racing against Zephyrs, Fb Holdens and all sorts of widely sliding other cars. A little new car knicknamed the "mini", was left behind at the start but by lap three was challenging the leaders for an outright win. It went completely around the outside of the other cars through corners. Qutie remarkable. !!!.

Its a bit like being a doctor in 1945 and trying this new thing called penicillin for the very first time. Only use it on a patient that had no hope in case it didn't work and then be amazed coz it did work.

I only hope that todays young also have the chance to experience some that is new, comes with a bang (oops right concept wrong word) and revolutionises a sector of our loves.
