The best way to see them is to go to google and search for images and type in Hillman Imp.

My dad had an IMP when I was little. He reckoned it was the biggest piece of crap he ever owned. It rusted badly and had a sucession of faults - head gaskets, starter, throttle cables, brake problems etc. It went to the wreckers in the late 70's.

But they are kind of cute, the Coventry Climax engine in the back its very tuneable and they can be made to handle quite well. 8)

I wanted one almost as much as I wanted a Mini. In fact, when we were looking to buy a restored Imp came up for $5000, in Canberra no less! Unfortunately my parents didn't like it, and I had to have their okay on the car (considering where the money was coming from!). I almost bought a Mini van painted that Tiger mica colour of the VTs, but as soon as I called it a 'shaggin wagon' they didn't like it no more :(
