I think that jan deserved all the awards she got, that car is an amazing piece of machinery, and a great source of ideas as to what can be done to our car of choice. Im personally gunna rip off her little leds in the boot but add about another 100 or so haha. She should also have got an award for putting on the show, i can only imagine the hard work involved. my 2cents

Well ther you are. I apologise for jumping to conclusions.

Maybe others should do the same.

I would be more than happy if someone else puts their hand up for the next MINISHOW. Maybe then I can win a trophy without people doubting me.

I only hope that more people think along the lines of Kasperflipped. The whole idea is to get Mini owners to see that we can beat all those rice burners out there. We are as good, if not better, than any other car out there. We just have to work at it. People will soon stop saying, "but it's just a Mini".

We are proud of our cars, and we deserve to be seen.

If you didn't enter your car, why not? Did you display it?

My van is far from a show car - it's my daily driver. But I still put it on display. 8)

jan deserves more than the awards she got!
she deserves an award for first CREATING minishow, and running it when the club didnt want to. Now that she finally has the clubs support she can relax. i think she deserves an award for the most dedicated mini owner/organiser in australia! :P

I am so glad you all enjoyed yourselves. Only problem now is that we have to wait for the next one for sooooo loooong!

I guess you could look at it another way, it means that you have plenty of time to get those Minis ready.

See you all at a club event soon.

Thanks again for all the good comments, but you know it can't be done without those volunteers. The people that help just make everything so much easier and the people that bring their cars along and come and look at the cars are as much responsible for the success as anyone is.

Well since ausmini was being promoted at your event I would not be surprised to see new recruits joining the next day and posting about the show.....

In regard to organisers showing their own cars, I have no prob at all, BUT I don't think they should be able to judge. That goes for any entrant, I just don't feel they should judge others AND their own. I have seen judging at shows where it has been slightly bias. I followed a group of judges once just to listen to what they point out. Interesting conversations.........my $0.02

At MINISHOW we don't let anyone judge their own category, that wouldn't be acceptable.

I, as an organiser, have never judged any section of MINISHOW.

As far as entrants not judging any section. At a show as big as MINISHOW we couldn't possibly have no entrants judging. Most of our judges would have cars entered but certainly they would not be judging any section with their car in it.

You have to remember that judges are only people like you and I.

They are given a judging criteria but how they judge a car is totally a personal thing. We have two judges who judge a car together and have to come to a decision on a mark for each of the areas of judging they are given.

It's all in fun and unfortunately sometimes we wonder whether we wouldn't be better to have just a display of Minis and no trophies at all.
