Okay.
This MGB that MG&Octagon Auto converted a couple of years back has fuel problems.
When you accelerate firmy it dies in the ass... chokes up and sometimes backfires.
It does this also when it comes onto boost.
Is it as if the fuel regulator is buggered, but we arent sure, so i thought i'd put it up here before we got a new regulator.
The fuel pump has been replaced not long ago, as we thought it was this.
I think it was a VL Commodore item.

Yeah so its quite the mysteryness.

And light shed would be greatly appreciated.

Next thing to do is take it to a dyno tuner and get them to fix it!

Fault code it and find a Nissan forum.

It must be that time of year the people on Ozclubbies are having the same problem with a Nissan motor in a clubbie at the moment and it turned out to be the pipe running from the air filter was colapsing because the spiral wire in the tube to hold it open had moved up into the filter and the pipe was collapsing when full throttle and boost was used, ran fine when part throttle was used it would cruise around no probs, they had done the same thing replaced pumps and ECU and all filters but it was the last thing they looked at and no more problems after that sometimes its the simple things

It always amuses me when the first thing people do is replace the ECU. Very rarely does the ECU give problems and never intermittant ones. Think you have an ECU problem?.....put it in another car and check it, don't put another one in your car in case you stuff it. Never do any trouble shooting until you know the basics like plugs and filters etc are checked or replaced.

Couldn't agree more start with the cheap simple bits first, the collapsing induction pie was only found when the car was on a dyno under load, simple but a bugger to find

I would check
Fuel pressure regulator
Feeder pump if fitted before the Vl item
and TPS
If all fails check if there is a banana in the tailpipe
