998_clubman? Why would you need bigger brakes than a cooper?

What is included in this?? are they the vented disc, 4 piston calipers? hubs, cv's?
thanks.

I got a set of vented rotors, 4pot calipers, cvs, brake lines and new pads for $650, plus another $220 for hubs and bearings. You could sell your s brakes and make a profit going to metro turbo, but will need 12+ inch wheels.

Have you already got 12" wheels? coz putting the metro 8.4's on means that you cant use 10's any more, too small.

You could practically swap your s/h cooper s discs for new/reco metro discs.

Cooper s discs are worth $2,000.00 new so s/h they're about half that, and Northern mini parts sells metro disc brake conversions for about $1,200.00 or more. That's where i got mine from... and i haven't seen them available anywhere else.

So i'd suggest you sell your cooper s discs for $1,000.00 or more and get the metro discs, you really notice the difference

when u guys say metro i hope you mean Turbo Metro, as the normal metro had solid rotors 8.4inch and single piston calipers, like whats found on our 1275 clubmans and mokes. Metro sets should be around $600 complete, turbo metro closer to $1000.

you could always go the honda accord vented disk setup. or do you need 4 pot calipers aswell?

well, while the mini is off the road, i just thought i may aswell just wack the turbo on it now, i got it for free off my bros mate.. i was going to just get the standard gti going, but ive thought about it long and hard, and it seems the smartest thing to do :) and most expensive, lolz

i dont think my s setup will be able to pull this thing up, or even pass the rta inspection..

my gti conversion is going pretty good at the moment, im just waiting on some tower bolts so i can properly bolt my subby in, and then i can finally bolt the engine in, and start playing around with cooling and few other things :)

turbo's just dont, sit in the engine bay, normally there's engine mods to be done. you need low compression, and im not sure about GTi's but normally if u want it to last you'd strengthen parts of the engine aswell.

but im not doing that conversion so dont ask me

850_pvan .. i hope your not serious.. i know turbos just dont "sit" in the engine bay!! jesus..

once my gti motor is bolted in, should be next week some time, i need to modify the alternator, it needs to face inwards through the driver side inner guard.. once ive made the brackets up for that, i can begin getting a custom zorst manifold made up, from the guy next door to my work, (im aprent mech) hes going to do most of the plumbing and oil and water cooling lines...

bit of an update on the suzi conversion, i came home this arvo with 4 new tower bolts from a local bolt shop, cost me $4.40 incl gst.. for 4!! .. i went to a mini specialist ealier on in the week and orderd some from sydney, they sent 2 seprate orders up, and they were studs, and wrong sized bolts.. anyway, subframe is all bolted in, 10 new high tensile bolts..

gona get some lowr control arm bushes tomorow and should be on 4 wheels again soon!
