Its a free market. We bring cars in from Japan and the UK, right? Is a mini enthusiast in the USA any different from one in Australia?

Let the market forces decide, it not as if we are being over run by people looking to export australian cars. This is a non issue, and whilst it may be debated vigorously on here, it is extremely unlikely that we will influence a change in government policy.

There is enough aggravation in the world at the moment, why bother getting worked up over something that is not a real threat to our enjoyment and that neither can we change? :?

Australia does have laws that forbid the export of any car of historical importance.

Any Bathurst winning mini couldn't be exported or any other that has historical providence.

I understand how you feel, but to be honest, if someone from overseas wants to pay me big bucks for my cars, they can have it. Austrailia still has a plentiful supply of mini's. I can always get another if need be.

Cheers

Aaron

The world is fast becomming a much smaller place, and global trade is becomming very common.

I know where you are coming from Brendan......but this kind of thing will only become more common.

It is a GREAT SHAME to see the BEAUTIFUL GT head OS, but I am sure the buyer will do it justice!

(I bloody well hope so!!!)

If some guy in Germany is desperate enough to pay postage for the Moke tank I'm selling on eBay, good luck to him.
Anyone prepared to go to such lengths to restore/preserve such cars has my respect, not contempt. :)
