The first thing I would do is check that the wire is hooked to the correct light. Turn the key on and two lights should come on. Pull the wire off the oil light switch and one light should go out.
Which one goes out?

One problem with this ball mod is the spring bends and can flick the ball sideways, giving major pressure drop when it happens.
Solution= cut a piece of 8mm dia steel rod 40mm long, and put it inside the spring. Presto, no more problem.:)

My OIl Pressure relief valve decided to give up at the weekend and I need to get a complete new one as I had to whack the cap off to get a spanner on the nut to get it out.

Anyway, I have been lookign at the Doc's notes on the BB mod and he says to put a 40mm length of steel rod in the spring. My problem with that is that the spring that came out of mine is only about 20mm long! Are there different valves on different Minis? Mine is just a standard 76 clubby.

Cheers

Rick
