If the car needs to be road registered, you can count me out.

I want to race a 1994 Rover shell which can not be registered in SA. I do not want to have an interior in the car as this will cost me more money and will make it feel less like a race car.

I do know this, all cars must run full trim in them, we can then run in road class under 1600cc at the supersprints.

I can see it now:

"um... yes, this really is my race car. Yes, I know, it still has 4 seats in it. Stop laughing"

I dont give a crap about supersprints..... i want to go RACING in a car that looks like a RACE CAR...... preferably WITHOUT an interior. I have always wanted to fang around in a car with the bare essentials: driver's seat, wheel, harness, tacho, battery box on the passenger's side floor...... and a gloss paint interior finish.

Noisy and hot.... unlike my women.

Get that rule book out!!!!!!

so you're happy to go slowly.... just as long as it looks like you're racing.

stop whinging people.....

the historic racers have to abide by this..

Quote:
4.1 Interior Trim
Unless otherwise specified, all original interior trim and fittings as supplied by the manufacturer for the model in operation must be in place. Floor coverings may be removed. Insulation materials may be added. Where the original trim has deteriorated, restoration is permitted and encouraged, but should be as near as practicable to original specifications.

so i think you should survive....

you guys are just shitty you've got those chunky aussie doors... :P

We can go in a section where we can gut the interior... but other cars run in this class, and they can split our group up.
under 1600cc road class was chosen so that we can all run together.

Cars do NOT have to be road registered, but be able to pass a roadworthy type inspection

oh yeah.... me old china doesn't have the regulations.... looks like it's time to make 'em up...

Don't bow down to the no interior pressure... :)

the 1100's would have more grunt out of the corners and the 1000's would have the straights.... other than that, i'll just have to get those 998 internals like we talked about yesterday... ;) i could get it degreased while we're at it...

So what would the rules be then

Falkens
Rims upto 6 inch?
Full interior
no lightening body mods (min weight plus fat bastard = 700kg)
Head porting
stock valves?
balancing crank/rods only
lightened flywheel
free exhaust (rear exit only)
drum brakes all round
suspension? (i'd say no alloy trailing arms.. ;) )

what else is there...

Looks like I'll be running WAY back in the pack as I plan on doing pretty much nothing to my car except for putting drums back on it. Might get a seat and harness though. Safety first.

Oh well. Sounds like fun anyways.

There will be plenty more stocky minis coming.
Back in the pack is where the fun is.

Any chance of making it any mini variant, as long as its 700kgs including driver, I cant find an engineer who wants to touch my van/ute hack, so malalla might be its best chance.

are we going poxy points or can we go elec?if so are honda dizzys in?
Diff's?
are they allowed to be welded or have to be open wheeler?

If it will cost me the same amount to do laps around malalla WITH or WITHOUT the interior, i'll be stripping mine bare - regardless of what class i'll end up in. Just as long as there are other minis there to battle with......

And yes, cush......racing does not necessarily mean FAST.... just feeling fast is good enough...... kinda like putting a big wing on a honda civic

hey redfive, you can race alongside me waaaaayy in the back! I am going to go stock, not doing anything to the engine at all-apart from new rings hey steve. well, maybe we will degrease it as well

I am doing it with a couple mates and they are gonna share the car on a week to week basis to hack around in.

Not everyone can be catered for as we all have different ideals.
