tricky situation.....

Yes, they need a red reflector, coloured globes, etc..... they also need to be Australian Standards approved.

Regency checks currently wont allow the clear lenses on Lancers (as genuinely fitted by Mitsubishi dealers) for some reason....

All depends on how naughty you've been i guess

There is another Leyland in Adelaide with clear lenses getting around, and i'm getting em on my roadster too

I guess some people like to draw attention from the coppers- but others among us prefer to travel incognito, with their illegal?? mods and all.. 8)

I have been told they are illegal. As someone else said they have to be stamped with the Australian Standards and they don't. I do know a P plater over here that was pulled up by the police, he mentioned them, but didn't do anything about them.

It's just personal choice I guess.

All Oz roundnose Minis had clear glass front lenses.
Back when I was a lad (yeah, ages ago...) I painted mine dayglo green. The local Plod was NOT amused..

No its not illegal. Its only illegal if there is no red reflector on it and that the emmiting light MUST be red, or orange, depending on what signal is used.

Don't worry; ive checked these things out! 8)
actually the indicator doesnt have to be orange ;) i have seen many vt>vx commodores on the holden lot with clear indicators and clear bulbs ;)

I thought they had to have the coloured globes, which cost a bomb, eventually peel and become expensive clear globes.

MiniSpares are selling LED assemblies for clear lights, but they are cocks and fooked me around for 2 months with an order, so I am not recommending them.

Beh you can get the LED cluster lights from Jaycar.
And hey, the LEDs will last the lifetime of the car; so no replacing globes ever. And the cost justify's itself with the wikkidness of the fully sick "altezza style" clear tail lights.

Quick remedy for this which i tell all people looking for coloured globes that come into repco........

Get some glass paint from a craft shop and paint the bloody glass yourself :P
