I have updated my web page to include updates for the restoration of LLH 815D, one of the Heinz 57 Crayford Convertible Wolseley Hornets.

Stop by www.starchak.ca and click on the HEINZ button.

The gearbox is another story. After the accident it was replaced with an A type factory 'Gold Seal' replacement. Since the A boxes are non-repairable it is scrap.

can you explain this bit? we repair non a+ gearboxes all the time over here...

What it means is the early A type gears as opposed to the later B type gears which are completely different from the really late A+ type gears. Pretty clear, eh? The A boxes had bronze cones for synchronizers and they were superceeded by baulk rings in about '62. This car should have a 3 synchro B type gearbox.

An intereasting read - best of luck with the restoration. Wish I had halve the skill to tackle something that challenging. Well done

Welcome to Ausmini - I was following your EFI project on the 5 port head with interest. Good to read you have found a way forward even if it is in a slightly different direction.

Cheers Dat

*Our friends south of the border that do not see the humour in this should check below the computer desk to ensure no one is pulling their leg.
