Hi all.
I have a bit of a question about van floor pan's (try saying that 5 times, fast)
Is it possable to get new ones? or is salvage and fabrication the only way to fix them?
Mine are a little rusty.

Which part?

I reckon you would struggle to buy the load tray new.

But for the lower front section, in front of the cross member is the same as any other mini, so yes, just get replacement panels (~$50):

If you are talking about the whole front section:

then be aware that it is a few inches longer than the standard mini pan. If you look at the rear of it from under the car, you can see how the lapped a little extention.

I would expect you could easily put in a replacement mini floor and redo that little extention.

Sorry i should have been a little more specific.
Yea its the front section. The driver and passanger footwell's are prety bad and in rear of the driverseat is a bit dodgey. So i thought i may as well do the lot.
I rang around a little today but apparently the whole floor section is not available. But you can get front r/h and l/h and rear the same and do it in four sections.
But if anyone is aware of someone that is selling the full floor, that would be great.

This is the plan for my van. A 1200 x 2400 standard sheet fits the van perfectly except for a inch either edge and the wheel arches.

i have the same plan!...it will look mad and will cop a beating!...aloty stronger than the actual payload itself!

im contemplatice doing the sides aswell so stuff rolling in back wont cause dents anymore!!!

Cheers Benmcf1. I have moved house recently and haven't had a chance to work on it for a while.

With the checker plate, are you guys talking about just laying it over the existing tray?

I would be worried about sand and moisture getting trapped in between there. My van used to catch lost of sand and mud from surfboards and moutains bikes.

I was just going to POR-15 mine.

But I know what you mean about the sides. There is nothing like forgetting about the food shopping in the back and fanging around a corner and hearing can of beans hit the side. :(

i have tarred the floor in the van......

the plan was also to cover the botom of the checker plate with tar aswell, use it like glue.....keep out the moisture,

aswell as bolt it down,

blake

I have a Clubman van with the same problem.

Are all van floors all the same?

That would mean my repairs just got a lot easier, as I was under the impression that K series Clubman vans had different floors, something to do the the ribs pressed into them.

I don't think the van floor should be that different because they never had hydro?

The ribs on the rover replacment panels don't line up exactly.

But the only difference I would expect from the floor of the 850 vans is the starter button hump.
