And what about the door latches and striker plates , were they the same for the sliding window as opposed to the windup ones ? I think so but haven't got my windup one here to check for sure .

They are the same too.
They didn't change the body design at all for the aussue minis until 71 for the last of the K's before the clubbies.
The new wind-up doors were built to go into the same opening as the sliders.
The rubber seals are slightly different though.
They didn't even change most of the locking components. Just added levers and stuff.

I think people over here want Aussie doors (or Innocenti doors) because they are so rare here. Whereas you are all used to them and maybe don't really see them as being something special.

One thing os for sure - Any Australian Minis in Britain/Ireland or even just the doors get a load of attention!

Thanks for the info guys - I must look more proactively into finding them somewhere. Once I've exhausted the British/Irish channels, I may have to see about getting them shipped from Australia.
