well i did the bravest thing yesterday, i purchased another 1972 mini clubman 998cc... to my surprise when we got there i had a good look over the engine, only to discover it was actually running an 1100... yay !!

as you see by the photo's i will post up it is in fairly good condition rust wise a couple of spots and came with a ton of extra stuff including a new set of foot wells...

The guy who i bouht it off said the engine runs well and it drives good, is it almost ready for painting?

my other mini clubman as you have probably read about is 3/4 of the way through having its engine out and i will probably end up selling parts or using it as spare parts (not sure) as it was quite free...

I like the Camels red engine (see pics in his post).
Would look great with a black body, like a redback spider 8)

Yeah, pull it out. That way you can paint the engine bay properly too.
Then get stuck in with paint stripper and/or wire buff

Automotive paint stripper is best, but if you've got some laying around just read to make sure it's safe on alloy (gearbox) and give it a go.

just finished painting some of the things that were already off... cleaned em up with a wire brush, paint stripper and degreaser... thought to myself, "crap, how am i gonna figure out which bolts go where" lol.

When i bought it the guy just put all the bolts in the boxes... hopefully in similiar boxes to the parts!!

lucky i have grouped and labeled bolts from when i pulled my other 1100 apart!!
