But the site says

"Whatever road bike you ride sports, supersports, cruisers, tourers, nakeds and everything in between Shannons knows exactly what you want from your bike insurance.

That's because Shannons people are bike enthusiasts just like you. So when you call Shannons you'll talk to people who know bikes and share the same passion you do for riding.

On top of a great level of comprehensive cover, Shannons Bike Insurance has features that bike enthusiasts have been crying out for"

^^^

I don't see why you would have trouble, what did they knock you back on?

If a 20yo can get insurance for a Harley (RIP), surely you should have no problems for the Duc?

I've got agreed value of $9000 on my mini with Shannons. $810 per year for comprehensive... i'm 23.

What i don't understand is why you were insured with anyone but Shannons. They're easily the best for old school cars like minis.

I find shannons quotes are all over the place...

Shannons also knock back alot of younger blokes too..

That being said they do a good deal for me :)

They do say in their blurb they insure your bike if you have several years riding experience.
Maybe this needs to be recent, or current... :?

Shannons gave me full cover for 5.5k for $370 but i didnt option for the wreck recovery - figured I just pay for the wreck.

They didnt even look at the car and I am also going on the home and contents with them - 200 bucks less than AAMI
- go figure

Hooroo

correct.

What disturbs me is the comment... Oh shannons does me a great
deal on the price of all of my old cars....... but they wont insure me on my
bike so i am going to leave them....

THE REASON why they have such great prices and service is because they
are picky about what they insure! They only will insure a sensible risk. and thisis reflected in a sensible premium

Makka when was the last time you rode a motor bike full time? and had
lots of experience in sydney traffic?

Bikes are a real hard thing to insure as they have a high claim rate and expensive
to repair. If shannons starts covering bikes left right and centre like say anyother
mainstream insurance company... watch ALL our premiums go through the roof
and shannons will then loose its individuality. and we will loose a great insurance company
