I previously restored a Lake Geen/white Cooper S - won the Australian Mini concours in 1990. Original interior colour was most definitely light green and was of the same style as the DeLux. Over time the original colour bleached and got dirty and could be misconstrued as fawn but the clean parts under seats and folds in the material were a pale light green. Having said that I found it difficult to get a match through the automotive trim suppliers and ended up using upolstory vinyl to get the best match.
You may be lucky enough to find an original Mini Delux with the same trim and style.
Good luck with the reto. I have some photos but not digi - could have them scanned if you're interested.

AJ,
The 2nd type upholstery could well have been introduced in the latter part of 67, but it has always been my understanding it was around the time of the wiper panel change.
According to Stephan Dalton this was around Cooper 'S' car number 4000 and was in early 68.
All the 67 'S' cars I have seen have the first type upholstery except for one which has been fitted with 2nd type front seats, but the back seat and the door trims are 1st type.
It's always good to find a further piece of info which helps to piece the jigsaw together to build a definitive picture of what changes occured and when.
Every little piece of info helps.

Regards
RonR
