I'm thinking of doing it a metallic colour; just to piss the original MG owners off even more

So... it'll also be a factory colour.

Personally, i LOVE both of these colours (thru the hundreds of colours i've looked thru already)

I hope you don't intend on actual Mazda paint, its made of so many layers of clears, metallics and pearls itsimpossible to repair if damaged, as well as a lot of work to paint.
I'd be going the carbon grey/silver, and accent the car with black stripes, interior, whatever.

Talking to a paint pro indicates that the pearls/base/metallic are all in the code for the actual paint.
The only thing after that is required is the top coat (clear - and there is only one type of clear in this instance).

So; its really no different to painting/repairing any other metallic paint.

They might be together, I'm not 100% sure, but I know when you look at a mazda (particularly yellow ones) you can see the layers.

If you pick carbon you will need some chrome rims to go with it other wise it would look a bit bland

A wasted $4-5000(properly done) if you ask me...
you told me you just want to thrash it around.
Spend the money in the right places
