OK the Mini K leaks on to front of the footwells both sides standing still in the rain.
What,s the procedure, hose running water start at the front of the scuttle and work up the windscreen until drops appear inside.
I have just spent $90 on Knox Auto carpets sound proofing material and I really don't want to put it in, knowing the damn thing leaks.
So any ideas on the best way to find the leaks would be appreciated

Just replace the seal.
Get it done at the same place that is fitting your brake booster (assuming it is a mini workshop).

I agree with willy (now there's something you don't hear every day) , get the seal replaced by a reputable place , then , assuming you have checked there's no gaping holes anywhere else letting the water in , if it does leak you can hit them up for the replacement cost of your new carpets . Better to spend a little more for some peace of mind .

Yeah , I was talking about the windscreen seal , they are fairly easy to put in but can be prone to leaking if they don't use enough , or too much sealant . Better to have someone reputable to put it in , be they a mini specialist or a windscreen specialist , whichever you find that will do it .

I believe the seals are different for the Zone toughened and laminated screens, because the glass is different thickness. If that is the case its a bit of a pain.
Really did not want to put in a new seal for a zt screen that will be replaced, don't want to put the laminated in yet as it will have to come out when the car is re-sprayed and sometimes removing a laminated screen can result in a broken screen.
Any ideas?

The different seals is a new one on me , I thought they were only the one size but I could be wrong . The windscreens aren't too bad to do , even the ZT ones , they are tougher than they seem and anyway , worst comes to worst they aren't all that dificult to find .

If the seals are the same, no problem, I'll get a new one.
Will check about the seals and go from there.
I know my panel beater would much prefer to remove a ZT screen, he reckons there is much less risk of breaking the screen.
I really don't want to put in a new seal, new lam screen and then replace it when we re-spray.
Damn thing is costing enough just to get it on the road. Of course once it is on the road I will find out what is really wrong with it and have to start fixing those things
I only hope that it really is as much fun to drive as all ausminiers seem to think.
This is my first mini and I have not had a chance to have a decent drive yet, just running it about to be worked on.

Go on SOMEONE please tell me it will be worth it.

To remove a laminated windscreen....
1) Park the car in the sun. (the screen is less likely to crack when it is warm)
2) Cut the rubber with a stanley knife (you are going to replace it anyway)
3) Lift out windscreen.

Easiest way of getting the windscreen out I have found is, remove the filler strip. Get in the car and sit on/between both front seats (handbrake off as it's a pita), put a foot either side of the screen and push. Have an assistant outside the car to catch the screen as it coms out

Klubman. It WILL be worth it. It's really hard to try and describe the joy of driving a Mini. But it Will be worth it. Just keep working at the Mini, you will reap the benefits later.

The windscreens are different in thickness but you can only get 1 seal these days.
Not the problem anyway, it was the various holes in the firewall. Plugged or sealed most of them then stole the clubbies firewall mat to help out a bit more.
Still seems to be a bit of a leak where the master cyls sit, is the solution just lots of silicone around the bases of these 2 items
