Does anyone know how to adjust a speedo in a Mini?

For example when doing 60km/h it says your doing 80, and when your doing 80km/h it says your doing 120. Is there any sort of adjustment on these?

We have a guy down here in Melbourne called Howard Instruments. They have a website and email contact. Not sure about anywhere else or how it is done but I know he does them.

Nick, Premier Instruments in Dickson can do the same and its a lot closer!!

PS called into the 'barn on sunday in between car services to say hi - you not there! Will leave an ACT Mini Car Club brochure there sometime for you

Speed inaccuracy is a way of life with Minis, especially if you go changing gearboxes etc

Cheers, Mick

Does anyone know, if when you install the cable, if it is meant to go in a certain way? I think it may either be that, or the gear ratio's out.

Nick, its been covered by the Doc before - search on speedo etc. Basically, there is a little gearbox and the inner speedo cable has a square section that slots into that. Inner should be greased but not up close to the speedo. You can buy litte gearbox thingummies to recalibrate your speedo to match the box you have changed over to or you can maybe adjust the internal gearing (Premiers should know).

Most people just drive of their Tacho or make a note of where the true speed is on their crazy speed dials.
