yes I'm trying sooo hard to stop myself... from commenting that is!

I think "stickies, rules & announcements" should be moved up to either above or below "how to's" as people who don't scroll down to the 'Off Topic' section may miss out on announcements. Just a suggestion.

That is the next thing to get an overhaul. Though it isn't something that can be done at a touch of a button. 8)

The Mini's in motorsport was moved into Mini chat as there really wasn't enough happening in there to warrant it's own little slice. Discussions about motorsport can be put in here, and will probably become better topics because of a higher foot traffic.

It's all about evolution!

When I did my computer degree (and its not that long ago) we were told never ever have more than 8 menu options on a single screen.

I find now that I usually dont go through all the various options - I basically just read the "mini chat" and dont see a lot of the other things that are posted. Therfore if someone has something of interest or a question i can help with then I simply miss it.

I would be happy with a maximum of eight options in total - and seriuosly, who cares if it is mostly all in the one place. It means itprobably gets read. The comment by Pooee was right - build around the users otherwise long term it doesn't get used.

This is not a comment meant to be destructive, its meant to be constructive and reflects an opinion on the forum and not a shot at any moderators

So were you away the day they covered search engines Mike :?:

There are three options for viewing new posts....it makes it easy

You could have forty five pages of folders and it would still be easy  :D

That is what I was saying when I said 8 to 12 options.

Lets face it, We are here to talk about minis so that is "mini chat" but if I want to talk about working on my mini it is no longer "mini chat" it suddenly becomes something else. Why? it is still mini chat!

If you have to many different topics you will have the problem of people posting in the wrong topic. Less options = less mistakes = less moderating.

All of the above require cookies to work properly and on many systems they dont..

Google is the god of all search engines

just put "site:ausmini.com" in google with the phrase you are looking for and it's pretty good.

The search feature here never turns up what you are looking for unless you click the radio button "search for all terms" even then it is mediocre..

Great tip mini mad.

I like it now - I reckon its the optimal or near optimal number of topics. Wouldnt want it to be like the minimania forums - great posts and members but impossible to find anything because of absolutely no sorting and a faulty search function.
