Whilst we are dealing with facts, a few people have forgotten to mention that male clubby owners have generally been hit with the ugly stick whilst the roundy owners are generally unscathed. :P

Come on, I was only joking! :D

The tinted glass was to hide the identity of the driver.

i thought the battle was between VW beetles and minis.

my dad has Beetle and i have a mini. family feuds are never ending

On the Clubman V's Roundy topic, i own both and have found both to be great cars in themselves!

the clubman is easier to work on more room in engine bay but seriously the bay is tiny still! if you want a bigger bay buy commonwhore.

The roundy interior in mine is more spacious but the clubby isnt cramped.

The miles thing isnt a problem in my opinion as it is original and the clubby one isnt even accurate

I would happily buy either again, they are all minis and that is the main selling point :!: :!:

i sick of roundy owners slagging off about clubbies not being real mini's and the like :x

TimB you really did let the cat out of the bag this time

cheers

Not that it has never been asked - it is just never been able to be answered without all the roundie owners slinging all sorts of crap on the clubbie owners.

As you can see for yourself by the responces here.

Sling enough insults and eventually you have a fight on your hands

i like my roundie seats, i find them more comfy then the cluby ones i had in there before, also worked on clubbies at minibits and didnt like it cos when the bonnest catch bar is on there its hard to reach in, i personally dont care though, they are both minis, and both have character

minis are better than beetles because:

they are just as roomy if not more so than a beetle whilst being significantly smaller
the engine is in the right spot
they're water cooled, air cooled is for motorbikes and ww2 aircraft
their engines are more powerful while being smaller in capacity
they win rallies and touring car championships and bathurst
the pedals don't come out of the floor
they don't make an awful whistling sound from the exhaust

still, beetles are cool, they have boxer engines and they're very reliable...
and herbie

Clubmans are better for racing. Because if you stack it, it's ok, it's just a Clubman!

Morris bricks for me thanks, I find them to be much nicer looking.

I think that it all comes down to personal opinion like everyone else has said. I like both Clubbies and Roundies, but there are things about the roundy that i like more, and I can't really put my finger on why. I just do.

I like the fact that the seat belts don't have the inertia reel. I like the rediculous little seats. I much prefer the tail lights on the roundy, and (usually) prefer the cute look to the tough look of the clubby. (On that note, did anyone see that tough as black clubby with the Ferrari seats in Mini Magazine?). I like the sad face grill (but a nice chrome clubby grill is equally attractive), and I love aubergine and that pastel yellow colour and the roundy stripes and bumpers on the cooper s and and and...

The mini is like an idiosycrasy on wheels. I like the roundy because it is slightly more idiosycratic and different. I think the clubbies were more of a "normal" car but shrunken down to fit into a mini shell.

Regardless of all that, I think the only mechanical differences are the age and rust issues.
