Thanks for the explanation Todd....I know its in your interests...but thanks anyway....it puts things into perspective.

It was great seeing Bo in the 'tina last year.....I couldn't hear the PA very well and didn't understand why the Cortina was mixed in with the Hardtops.....maybe a Ute with a big sign?? (don't listen to me :? )

Q: Will the Minis be on track by themselves (cept for course vehicles/authorised vehicles) or is there another theme to be promoted from 1966 :?: :?:

(nine Minis first home means that just about everything else pales into insignificance)

I look forward to more information from you on Ausmini.

As far as i'm concerned thats the only Parade as such we are doing at Bathurst, we do have another smaller support act for them we are considering, but nothing as big as Mini.....
You never know what other people are planning, but the main thing is tracktime.
You will note we never Guarantee Track time as AVESCO see this stuff as a filler....people should understand many Categories that go there to race each year sometimes get pulled so we never really confirm track time. Having said that we've never not been on - and that gets back to providing informed educated entrants who understand why we do what we do. I've never been round in a car on race day as i get enjoyment from seeing the smiles on the faces of the owners each year....

Cheers

Guys: I suggest stop winging about the price and get an entry in! $330 for a lap of Bathurst on the big day is a BARGAIN! How many people do you think will be standing on the other side of the fence wishing they could do a lap????

In comparison the Historic Touring Car guys are paying generally around $800 entry fee to race at Bathurst and have been known in the past to get very few laps on the Sunday!

What would you rather say to the grandkids, I've driven Bathurst in my Mini or I saved $330??

Wait untill after the big weekend and drive around the circuit for free :D most of the rednecks on the otherside of the fence only think of these parade laps as crap to fill the time in, most wouldn't know what a mini is

I think its great, and anyone moaning about $330 for 2 people for a once in a lifetime opportunity needs their head looked at. Who cares what other people think standing on the other side of the fence. Your doing it for yourself. Plus everyone loves a mini, nearly everyone you meet has owned one
Well done Todd, hope all goes well.

The last time I raced at Bathurst the entry fee was $250.
So six years later it costs a lot more to get a parade lap.
When you look at the extras like tickets, dinner, parking, museum entry etc.. it would not be too bad.

Anyway, I was looking at the list of cars and I see that the 1100 is eligible..... Doesn't say which 1100 though!

not sure if it will be possible, but I'd love to drive over there for this - any other WA people interested in getting a tour organised?
I've only been to Bathurst once (2004) and loved it - gotta go back again and with the Mini celebrations it looks awesome... and this might finally be the year the mighty Ford's can claim their proper spot back on top now that they've demolished them oldhens in every other aspect of the V8 series :D go Lowndesy
