i have recently discovered the rarity of my mini and before i go to far with mods i am considering selling this particular one and buying a less rare model that wont be almost illegal to modify i have been researching my mini and have found that only 998 of this model were made i am trying to find out what it is worth and wether there is any interest it is a nugget gold 1978 Ls 1275 original paint original velour seats in great condition original gt style triple pod dash it does have a added stereo with speakers in the back and under the seat but there are no mods to the dash
the engine has only recently been fitted with twin inch and 1/4 carbys but i still have the orignal inch and 3/4 carby the clutch master cylinder has been restored and the brake master cylindar proportinal valve has been re sleeved and restored solid brake lines replced and flexible hoses replaced suspension rubber cones have had the knuckle join ts replaced recently changed shocks and front bushes the original exhaust has been changed to a 2 inch stainless exhaust the whole way and it has extractors but i have not found anything saying wether they cam with them or not , the odometer currently reads just under 80 000 kms original kms and i have the old rego papers from previous owners and the papers to show it was treated with rust rid only a few days after it was purchased it did have two small rust spots under the front guard but i just had those plated and have had the original paint made and mixed in a pressure can readyu to respray the under side please ask what ever you would like and let me know what you think it is worth if the offer is right i would consider trading for another mini to the same worth

Well done Makka, and the guy still has his head!! :P

Yeah mate, try the for sale section, and adding some pics. Does wonders for people's interest. On another note, there has been a few LS's around lately, so I don't know how "rare" they really are.

yeah, put it in the for sales.... I'm not into clubbies, but I'd like a 1275 LS - unfortunately I'm not in the market so don't get your hopes up...

I reckon the description you give puts the value anywhere from $5-7000, sounds like a nice car, I've seen really good money paid for cars nowhere near as nice, and nowhere near as rare

congrats on deciding not to modify it

Depends on what "mods" you want to do?
You can have all the comfort and luxury of the LS,and still carry out discreet and tactful
improvements.
Just put aside all the bits and pieces that you take off-unless you a talking about dropping
a "half-cut"Starlet running gear in it

I recently sold the silver variety and there is a lot of interest out there. It sounds like a good car and it's hard to give an accurate price, but $5000 - $7000 sounds about right to me.

eBay it - people seem to pay insane prices for cars on there that don't even sound as good as yours.

You're right about the rarity of the car - its one of poeees favourite subjects to talk about. Though it is strange that, considering there was only 500 of the gold and 500 of the silver made, that a lot are still out there. We've even got 4 of teh gold ones in Geelong. poeee was telling me that a while ago someone came on ausmini wanting to make a replica.

keep it, it'll be worth a pretty penny one day - then you'll thank yourself
