Hi all, thought i would post some pics of the Express naked!!
I've had the car for about 2.5 years now and have always had grand resto plans for it...
After fixing this and repairing that in order to keep the Express o the road the last straw came before xmas when 3 (yes THREE) bolts broke/snapped/sheared off at the same time on main road in peak hour in Melbourne!! With only one bolt and nut holding the front drivers side wheel on I limped/wobbled to the curb and went "*#@% it... resto happens now!!"

So with all the eagerness of a rabbit in spring I got stuck into stripping down the car. Entheusiasm has since waned a bit, or at least the work rate has, and the finish line keeps getting farther and farther away but here is some pics of the "journey" so far...

Image
Started taking pics a little late but... the roof seemed the perfect place to start (hindsight sux!!)
Image
elbow grease!!!
Image
coated the roof with a rust inhibitor which will be rubbed back later when the primer goes on
Image
Iremoved all the seam covers and cleaned up/rust proofed the seams... replaced the covers with some industrial grade sikaflex to aid the clips and protect the seam underneath from unwanted moisture later!!
Image
interior is still in progress but...

... the undercarriage has come up beautifully. I removed all the old crap that was there and have applied a few coats of body/sound deadener.

Thats where it ends for now... Obviously there is a long way to go but I will keep the posts up and (also try to keep them shorter  ) of course feedback is welcome.

Cheers, Bryan

Holy crap, and I complain about the size of my twin garage!

Superb job in such a tight space. 8)
