here is my little story.....

Way back in 1970 or 1971 i was playing school sport,i think near
Turramurra or Pymble,and one of my teamate's father came to watch us play.His dad was a Policeman and to this day i can remember his dad was
driving a NSW Police Cooper S and it was purple!

This memory is quite strong and i'm sure the NSW cops had Cooper's.So i was wondering if anyone would have any info on when
the NSW Police had Coopers and would they possibly have had Purple ones or have i had to many knocks to the head from playing footy.

NSW Highway Patrol used all colours and fairly plain wrapper looking Coopers up to the 70s....It was great to be in a Cooper and watch everyone suddenly behave themselves (well until they realised it wern't being driven by a Walloper) .

So....yes....your memory is probably accurate

Thanks for clearing that up for me.I thought as time had passed on my memory may have got a bit out of wack.I was about 10 or
11 at the time and as i now own a Clubman i suppose it's had a lasting effect on me!!!

HAH....in fact, just about any Mini could be treated with suspicion......especially if you hung back a tad from a "perp"

Then they mostly went Torana GTR with maybe XU-1 spec engines under the bonnet ....but again, very plain brown wrapper (check out the sun visor)



The cop bikes take pride of place in the pic coz I was also riding a 750/4 at the time
