I was wondering if anyone knew if the blue and white sticker/transfer that read "Australian Made" with a stylised red boomerang and white stars is available? I understand they were positioned on the rear windscreen. Also, through what period of Australian production cars were these applied?
Another curly question- was the unique Australian rocker cover sticker that read "Hot Run Tested OK" or words to that effect, applied to the Cooper S? If so, was it used in conjunction with the "Morris" sticker?
Thanks!

Not sure of an exact date, but I remember those being applied to the later round nose cars (deluxes, mini k's) and Morris 1100's etc 1970 - 1971. don't think it was on the clubman, so that means it may have stopped by then (late 71). I also can't recall seeing a cooper s of the same era with one either?

I don't think it was used in conjunction - I have a copy of Mini Minor Downunder and it has a the Modern Motor magazine articles from the 60's, a few of them have engine bay pics and the hot run tested stickers don't appear with the morris stickers - there were probably exceptions, but I'm running without it...

The "Hot Run" sticker was used on Mk2 Cooper S , Mini K and early Clubmans , the Morris sticker was used on Mk1 Cooper S , Deluxes , 850's etc . Very early ones (ie imports)had the Morris plate riveted to rocker cover ....cheers

The australia made stickers are available as reproductions from the www.elevenhundred.com website along with the "floats on fluid" stickers go to: http://www.elevenhundred.com/stickers.php

or is that not what you are asking :?

If I remeber rightly  my clubby 78 has a hot run tested sticker so I am not sure it was just early clubbies :D

My 72 Clubman still has one - or the remains of one- on the rear window.

There is the "Australian Made" sticker on the rear window of the red mini ( back page) in the BMC Mini De Luxe brochure which was probably published when the car was first introduced (1965). This is the brochure with the green front page.
