Ok - I have to start this one off ....
Keep your mini as it was 30, 40, 50 years ago or change it to suit you now and suit 2006? - Should the word Suzuki Swift be added in here?

I like to modify.   ..... What do you like? (take your vote)

Cheers Gerard

Depends on what you start with.... Unfortunatly Gerard I don't like what you have done with Putt Putt at all. Putt was a very original car, very basic and very std. What you have done with it makes it look like every other mini out there, mags, and dash just make it look.... well generic.... He had much more charector before. BUT, having said that i know you have kept everything to make him std again if you had the want to do so. I think thats great. I just don't see why you have done as you have when almost every other mini looks the same as what you have done. Sorry, my opinion, and to be taken as an ex-owners opinion.

Cheers

Aaron

I think that it determined in what condition it is actually in.... and why you bought it.
whould you modify a little old ladys car that only took her to churcj and back on sundays and paid 5k for?
or perhaps a P-Plater special that has been flogged to death.....

nowadays I find it difficult not to modify, but that is for a purpose I guess. I like the EFI motors, as my cars are or destined to be daily drivers, and spending the cash on something like this as opposed to a 13k drive away no more to pay is so much more appealing. But I don't look for a car that really deserves to be built back to origional either...

Aaron - you did an excellent job with the disc brakes and the flares ... the disc brakes were a huge selling point at the time of sale.
Yes he did have much more character as a standard mini but yes I do like the other minis out there that are generic - some of those generic people will I know be reading this (love your work) but I do say that .... I guess we make our cars less generic by making it ourself - there is no recipe out there for genericacy this is where a piece of ourselves is added - I could guarantee that the dash that I built over many hours of sweat may be copied but will never be the same (I just posted pics because maybe I can help somone out who is wanting to do the same thing - like I already have to a newcastle member) -

Putt Putt has an identity (as does everyones mini in here - christ they teach us to drive them not the other way around) and that identity is changed everytime a new owner takes delivery .... loving what they see that others have done and taking the good work that others have done beforehand and moulding and shaping it to have a piece of them in the mini..... Putt Putt will never be the same because I will never ever craft another the same (and you will probably never sell me another car with the specs that you added to it again) - just like everyone puts their sweat into their mini (and blood half the time) no minis will ever be generic or the same.....

This is why we modify - to mirror our identity....
