What you havent taken into account is the history that a car may of had, it could had been cherished by one owner for the past 30 years and kept in an original roadworthy condition and its all gone when a new owner wants to individualise it.
In the end of the day it whatever floats your boat, its your car to do whatever you feel like. Putt Putt looks nice now too but you should have started with a shitter it would give you more scope :)
just another opinion though think of it as feedback not critisim

Aaron - you did an excellent job with the disc brakes and the flares ... the disc brakes were a huge selling point at the time of sale.

Disc Brakes were added to the car as a saftey precaution for my toddlers sake. They along with the flares went with the car as you say, a selling point. The flares i had never intented to put on the car....

I am not having a go at what you did to the car, all i gave was an opinion, which is mine, and won't be shared by others or by you. I am glad that you bought the car as it is being looked after and not left to rot and be trashed. As i said earlier it's great your keeping all the original stuff so it can be reverted when and if you decide to.

Please don't think that I am upset as i'm not, it's not my car. As I previously said i am just an ex owner who loved the car as much as you that has a differing opinion to yours. But i don't own it and am certainly not losing sleep over it. I have bigger fish to fry, speaking of which i should do some work on it eh:cry:

Cheers
Aaron

The Stanard look is always the nicest in my opinion
if you want to go to all the trouble to put a replacement
engine in it is your own choice
I personally like to stick with the mini engine ( slightly modified)
but with a bit of grunt

My first mini was a trashed hunk of junk so I went to town on it. I have recently acquired a 74 van that is completely original and is going to stay that way.

It's easier having 2 minis I guess coz I like original and modified

Hmmm.
It seems that if you own one mini you are supposed to keep it standardish
If you own two you can go to town on the shitter one.

Gerard i have one suggestion, buy this off me.
