Heh, I went to my favourite place Canley Vale Auto Spares and bought the rest of their Formula R 25W50 stock. He confirmed that Formula R will soon be no more and he can only order EDGE from now on. The same 25W50 EDGE will cost about $36 a bottle.

I can't find this stuff anywhere. Supercheap now only sell EDGE. Autobarn I've seen have Formula R but for about $36 a bottle :?

I bought 4 today for $26 each  Now I have a hoard of 7 bottles  :P That'll last me awhile

Went to Repco today, the Edge stuff comes out to roughly $24.50 with the 25% discount - however they had two bottles of Formula R left - $23 each. No more Formula R left at Repco Mascot

Meh, you Redfernites are just so flush with cash... :P

BTW, the Repco guy went to the Edge product launch. He said that the 25W-50 was the least changed of the four products according to Castrol, just a change to the detergents they use on it.

Paid $32 for EDGE. Supercheap had other EDGE, but not the right EDGE and of course, none of the right FormulaR left. AutoPro had one type of EDGE, but not the right one. Ended up at Repco, they had one bottle of the right EDGE, so I bought it (at the $32 previously mentioned). Didn't make it to autoBarn, it's right over the other side of town.

Who knows what they have changed, it's still "SG". I think they just called it something else and put it in a gold bottle. I'll guess i'll find out if it uses less/more when I check the stick tomorrow (done about 800-1000km since I changed it on Tuesday!).

It's still SG, which defines the detergent levels and other stuff.
Oilz ain't oilz, this article is long, but interesting...
