News article:

Rookie team AusminiR proved the critics wrong today, showing that, although they are new to this sport, they can still reach a podium finish. Team Leader S. Pocock was quoted as saying "It was a great experrience, actually finishing ahead of Cush(sic) by over 15 seconds! The fact that hes been in this style of race for years, and I'm only new, makes this experience even better". AusminiR believes that much of its success in getting a lot out of the car is due to their rather unorthodox hiring of a female head mechanic, who is proving to be able to compete with the "boys club" quite well.

This result, however, has not been without its incidents. An incident on the podium has caused tension between IHR driver M Clarke and AusminiR driver S. Pocock. Clarke allegedly aimed the cork of the champane bottle in his hands at Pococks head, and was heard to say "watch your back, little man. Your days in this race are numbered."

S. Pocock believes that this is due to Clarkes car suffering an unreal amount of damage, but does not understand why the comment was aimed at him in particular. M. Clarke refused to comment, and was led away by officials, who are checking the footage of the incident.

Much speculation has been made in the media recently about Island Hopper Racing Star Michael Cushway's apparent poor performance in the Oulton Park Island Circuit Feature Race of the 2006 Ausmini BTCC.
At a press conference today it was revealed that the apparent poor result was a tribute to his late father who, in his 90 year racing career, never made it higher than position 4 at Oulton Park.

"I was a great moment for me and terrific to see some of the new blood get a chance on the podium," Cushway said yesterday, " It'll be good to get back to winning races and shagging models again."

oh and spaceboy...

"Island Hopper Racing's flamboyant lead driver, has been sighted in the vicinity of the Deed poll office. When questioned he replied, "You gotta do your bit for the little guy, it will become clear by race day."

"I dont know if I'm Arthur or Matha". said Michael Cushway of Old Man Racing. In a guest of appearance in the wrotten, beaten old Honda of Old Man Racing said he wants to experience "life with the poor people" before returning to his multi-million pound Vauxhall sponsored drive.

In a shock announcment from Old Man Racing the true identity of the lead driver has been discovered.

French mime and very annoying person Marcel Marceau was seen emerging from the recently poorly qualified Old Man Racing Honda.

The scene below shows the driver discussing handling improvements with his pit crew.
His head mechanic was heard "that guy drives like a clown. We cant tell if he is trapped in a glass box or he wants to reduce the understeer. Everytime I go to talk to him gets me with water from the flower thing. Its quite frustrating"

amid speculation over controversy concerning IHR and alleged "car swapping",
Bankrupt motorsport's driver has again proven he has the talent and commitment to snatch pole position, but given the car's record and race performance this season the odds are not good for a podium finish. Some commentators suggest that the car lacks the stamina required to win races and stay with the frontrunners.

the team manager I.C Wheener had this to say earlier:
"the driver definately has the pace, whether or not the car will hold together with duct tape is another matter altogether"
