ok, i've been thinking about it long enough, time to shout it out.

when i was a younger youngen back in the year of 2001 i watched the film "The Italian Job" for the very first time, on videotape, vcr, i saw it 6 times in 5 days. i remeber after the film they had the deleted scene with the minis and police cars doing ballete. i also rember a comentry of the film and fottage of some one at certain places describing some things which went wrong. like the jump from the top of the fiat factory to the other rooftop where to minis bolted suspenion and the third broke and axel. he also described how once when the helicopter came down to do a close shot of the bus the downforce of the helicopter started tipping the bus over and the director and producer (i belive) quikly jumped up and grabbed a hold of the front bumper of the bus and they nearly lost the acters and the bus and the last scene over the cliff top.

my question to you is does any one have a copy of the original movie, the video tape?
I do own the dvd, much like the rest of you, but i want to know if the any of the video tapes still exists? or if anyone remebers this?

Now which version are you looking for Andrew , the 90's released version with just the movie , or the later one (like you mentioned) with the extra bits at the end (ballet on ice with police cars etc) ? I thought the later version was still available at Kmart and the likes but not sure .

Some interesting trivia on IMDB, including the fact the the minis are always in the red, white and blue order. Apparently.

Personally not my favourite Mini movie, as Goodbye Pork Pie makes the Mini the centre of the action, from start to finish. Just released on DVD with additional features. None of which helps you find the original cut of the Italian Job, apart from the info from IMDB that the ballet on ice scene was cut from the original movie. Apparently.

I have both versions on VHS , didn't have a dvd player when the re-release happened and from memory the dvd and video had the same features anyway . The earlier version that was released in the 90's just had the movie and no extra bits , it also had pretty crappy subtitles when the police were talking to the traffic controllers in the control room and you only saw the middle of the text .
Angusdog , I didn't realise goodby pork pie was available on dvd now , I've only got my very crappy version copied off a video from Goulburn's video ezy many years ago (must have been a big NZ population in Goulburn , that tape had had some serious use .....) i'll have to keep an eye out for it . Great movie , anyone over there tried to make it an annual run along the same path ?

I have both the video as well as the DVD - except for the add ons, I see no difference between either.
I also have Good Bye pork pie on DVD.

I have a dvd recorder if you want a copy of either but pm for a cost
Although - honestly - its almost cheaper to buy it off ebay out of china !!!!!

I wouldn't mind a copy of Goodbye Pork Pie - I've never seen it.
Good luck tomorrow. Sorry I'm not able to come home.
Don't forget to bring a pumped up spare if you can as the right rear is flat still and I don;t think the spare is any better.
