for those that can't understand why it's called a Torana, think of it this way........what else would holden call a sporty, RWD, mid-sized, hatchback?

obviously not vectra cos they're just granny mobiles (everyone knows that)...so they go the clever marketing ploy and make it appeal to anyone that used to own a torrie and away they go....easy :D

It looks disturbingly like the new vectra to me.... but with a twin turbo v6 @ 280kw

Thats no Torry and nothing like a torry. give me a brake and who do they think we are.
As they have proven already with the Mini, Beatle and the Monaro why try again when it was perfect the first time, (well the beatle may be not) but hay they say every ten years every thing is re-invented. Please don't bother with the four wheels

love the gallery, a few comments I feel must be made as I browse...

DSC_1421 - don't mind that new Torana (not keen on the car - should be minimalist for a 'rana, how are the mullet heads gonna afford a DVD player, let alone know what do do with it
DSC_1466 - not bad
DSC_1507 - this Italian model bulges in all the right places
DSC_1516 - that car has a nice... ummmm.... colour
DSC_1519 - sweeet, soft top looks like it'd let a bit of air through though
DSC_1520 - the one on the right looks nice and aerodynamic
DSC_1523 - interesting... this one's a left hooker, still, I'm sure some conversion is possible with the right tools
DSC_1565 - it's be nice to take the covers off the one on the right, the one in the centre might be OK too
DSC_1602 - yeah... OK - certainly fits the traditional volvo image
DSC_1603 - hmm, forced induction... synchronised twin turbo? oh, got it, twin screw blower...
DSC_1628 - what's under that cover to the left? oh, never mind...
DSC_1631 - very smart indeed
DSC_1915 - awww, what a sweet little rear end, the twin pipes are cool
DSC_1947 - yes, these french cars aren't for everyone, but nonetheless draw a crowd
DSC_1949 - can I take a peek in the box too?
DSC_1977 to DSC_1983 - yes, it'd be great to take this for a run in the sand dunes - looks like it'd be easy to roll tho...
DSC_1990 - very proud, got the towels off and we can finally see the shape properly!
DSC_1996 - I bet one of these bastards was the one who gave me the defect notice a few weeks ago
DSC_2001 - highly evolved.... and playstations!
DSC_2002 - nice brochures they've got at these motor shows
DSC_2008 - hmmm, sophisticated, elegant, but not quite all there in terms of overall styling
DSC_2014 - yeah, these were defenitely worth a second look
DSC_2061 - I like Honda's, but sometimes they have too many accessories that get in the way of a good ride, like this bloke...
DSC_2067 - nice, but a few too many of these around - just not unique...
DSC_2085 - damn... the Keonigsegg - Ferrari's etc. are common street trash these days

this motor is the new alloy tec v6 in the vz commodore, punching 190kw N/A. lets face it the twin turbo v6 is never going to hit production, even if alfa romeo ( i think ) is going to use this motor in its current show torana spec in their next supercar .
